Full job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Valeter & Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle preparation and transportation between depots and customers for delivery/collection. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills and an attention to detail for valeting and checking the vehicles for damage. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving.

Responsibilities

  • Vehicle preparation and movement between depots and customer delivery/collection.
  • Highlighting and reporting new damage/defects to customer upon collection and to the Rental Supervisor upon return.
  • Vehicle maintenance and small repairs, e.g. headlight bulbs, mirrors, etc.
  • Complete defect reports.
  • Preserve consumable stock levels and re-order from St Austell Depot.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others on the road.
  • Maintain good working relationships with customers and colleagues.

 

Experience

  • Holds current HGV Class 2 licence
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Driver.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members and clients efficiently.

 

What we offer:

  • £14 per hour (£32,760 pa)
  • No shifts. No weekends. Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm (45 hours per week)
  • 21 days holiday per year plus bank holidays

Full job description

We are currently looking to recruit a Service Manager for our busy commercial vehicle workshop based at Molingey Quarry, St Austell.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop, ensuring efficient operations, high levels of customer service, and compliance with all relevant industry and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the running of the workshop, including scheduling, job allocation, and workflow management

- Manage and support a team of technicians and support staff

- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes

- Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers

- Monitor performance, productivity, and profitability of the workshop

- Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations, health & safety requirements, and company procedures

- Handle customer queries, estimates, and invoicing where required

Requirements:

- Proven experience in a similar role within a commercial vehicle or HGV workshop

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Good technical knowledge of commercial vehicles

- Excellent organisational and communication skills

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
